A Survey on the Impact of Smart Phones on Employees' Positive Behavioral Outcomes Social capital as a with the Mediator (Case Study: Tehran Public Library's Employees)

Purpose: examining the effect of using smart phones on positive behavior outcomes of employees with a mediating role of social capital. Method: This study is considered as an applied study based on research objectives, and descriptive survey research from the point of view of method. The all the staff of Tehran's public libraries were considered as statistical population of the research. Cochran formula has been used to determine the sample size 200 participants. Due to the small size of the population and the appropriate volume for the modeling of structural equations, the entire population was studied. The instrument for collecting data was standard questionnaire by Shir & et al. (2017) whose reliability was confirmed by Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.914. Data were analized by KMO test to check them for their suitability for structure detection. Furthermore, research validity was examined by factor analysis and Amos has been used to test the research hypothesis. Findings: The results of the research showed that using smartphones has a significant and positive effect on positive behavioral outcomes of employees. Also, the role of social capital as a mediator in this effect was confirmed. originality/Value: Despite the importance of the mentioned subject, no research has been done yet. This research can be the beginning to focus on the effects of messenger programs in organizations. The results of this research contribute to the empirical and theoretical developments of this field of study. Therefore, considering the importance and efficiency of smart phones in providing information, reference, information technology and educational and research services, it is suggested to consider measures for appropriate use in the development of public library services with the help of smart phones.
